OnLine supplies CDC with Molex networking products for proposed Four Seasons hotel in Doha

- PRESS RELEASE
International Data Communications (IDC), the IT division of Construction Development Company (CDC) and the Certified Installer of Molex Premise Networks in Qatar, is currently completing the network infrastructure at the proposed Four Seasons Hotel in Doha's prestigious West Bay area.
The West Bay Complex, constructed by CDC, combines the individual elements of a hotel and associated buildings including offices, apartments, townhouses and a marina. Valued at US$140 million, the 55,411sqm project is inspired by Islamic and Qatari influences, reflected by the appearance of the buildings and the use of architectural features such as wind towers, patterned cladding panels, architectural feature arches and columns and rooftop domes on all the towers.
The proposed Four Seasons Hotel in Doha's prestigious West Bay area will have lower and plaza levels in addition to its 18 floors. The 232-room hotel including five presidential suites, one royal suite and two duplex suites will have a host of facilities including all-day and speciality restaurants, tea lounge, cigar bar and lounge, a grand ballroom, banquet ballroom, meeting rooms and an outdoor function courtyard. Recreational facilities include a club with squash courts, gymnasiums, lockers, spa and juice bar, a tennis centre with two open-air tennis courts and exhibition seating.
According to George Kenich, CDC, "This is the largest network of its kind in the region. This is one of the first instances where the entire networking design has been done locally, linking all aspects of the hotel infrastructure including CCTV, telephone, Internet, Video systems, satellite systems, and security systems. We have been informed that the Four Seasons chain plan to use this design as a template for other upcoming projects."
The contractors of the West Bay Complex required a complete end to end structured cabling systems to be implemented at site. Kenich said the company only wanted to work with European brands and products of high quality, without compromising on pricing.
"Molex provided a range of the best price performance products for their needs," Kenich said. "Molex was involved from the design stage. Representatives from the company along with BICSI certified members from OnLine worked with our consultants to get the appropriate network design in place on time. The combined team met and exceeded the required standards set by the consultants."
CDC, with support from OnLine and Molex, supplied and installed a Molex cat5e copper and fibre solution consisting of both multimode and single mode cables, with a total of 4200+ data points in and around the premises. The entire set up was 100% compatible with Hamilton faceplates used exclusively in each of the hotel's guest rooms to meet the decor and aesthetic aspect of the project. Molex designed a custom made module for to meet this requirement.
In addition, Molex and OnLine offered CDC 24x 7 post-sales-support. The whole network will be certified by CDC and guaranteed by Molex under their global 25 year warranty program.
