DSS activities serve as magnet for consumer traffic
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, August 17 - 2004 at 15:46
- PRESS RELEASE
The Dubai Summer Surprises formula of generating business and income for local industry by creating consumer-friendly events and activities has received accolades from yet another city mall, the year-old Century Mall in the Al Mamzar area.
"DSS activities have proved to be a major attraction for all the visitors to our mall," said Feroz Latif, Mall Manager for Century Mall. "DSS 2004 has been very professional organised, and we would like to congratulate the entire DSS committee for their efforts."
"Our stores have reported extremely good sales, and we have also set up our own promotions such as the new 'End of Summer' promotion, a Jungle Bungle promotion that offered 50 percent off at the Amusement Centre, and live shows including magic, puppet and musical shows to run alongside the magnet DSS activities," Latif said.
The 'End of Summer' promotion, which runs from Monday, August 23, until October 17, features weekly raffle draws with 30 prizes including televisions, washing machines, video cameras, shopping vouchers and other items given away as gifts to shoppers.
Latif said the mall, which opened late last year in the Al Mamzar area, has seen an increasing trend in footfall and sales since the start of DSS 2004 on June 17. The trend is expected to continue in the coming fortnight, until DSS ends on August 27.
Century Mall's clientele is largely Asian, followed by 30 percent UAE nationals and 15 percent other expatriate. The mall also participates in the Dubai Shopping Malls Group "Win-A-Dream" promotion, where shoppers shopping at any of the city's 20 malls receive raffle coupons for every Dhs. 200 purchase. The draw features spectacular prizes including Mitsubishi Pajeros and Paris Gallery vouchers every week and a dream home at the Jumeirah Beach Residence as the grand prize.
