In response to its popularity, timings of the exhibition have been extended to 10 am to 11 pm daily and from 3 pm to 11 pm on Fridays.

Judging by the turnout at the Back-2-School Exhibition, parents and children are taking that lesson to heart, picking up all their children's school needs and exposing them to edutainment workshops at the same time.

"Visitors to the exhibition will find every school need here, from books to accessories to stationery," Suhail said. "As more and more people find out about the exhibition, and as the school season gets closer, we are increasing trade and traffic."

Organised by the DSS Office in cooperation with 3B United Advertising LLC, the Back-2-School Exhibition is expected to play a major role in reintroducing study concepts to the young revellers of DSS who will be heading back to school in the next fortnight.

Workshops at the Back-2-School exhibition run from 4 pm to 10 pm everyday until Friday, August 27, the last day of DSS 2004. Al Jazeera Eggs, Diamond Company, Noor Oil, Al Safa and Gulf Dairies Co. have sponsored these workshops aimed at teaching children about healthy eating habits and nutrition. Some of the subjects covered include how to make healthy sandwiches, prepare healthy breakfasts and understand why many snacks are unhealthy.

The Al Jazeera Eggs workshop, for example, begins with a talk about the nutritional value of eggs, how to hard-boil an egg, and prepare healthy sandwiches using eggs in as interactive and fun a way possible. After every workshop, children will be given packs of Al Jazeera Eggs.
