Djibouti Finance Minister visits Dubai Customs

Sultan Murad Al Jokar, Assistant Director General for Air and Land Customs at Dubai Customs welcomed Yaseen Almi, The Finance Minister of Djibouti, while they discussed the cooperation between the two parties, especially about exchange of information, experience and customs training.

Al Joker expressed Dubai Customs' interest in developing the cooperation and relationship between the two parties on various levels. He confirmed that an exchange of expertise would ameliorate Customs services in all aspects, indicating at the same time that Dubai Customs always followed the philosophy of opening up to everybody and making use of others' experiences, as well as helping and advising others who would need their technical support.

He also explained that Dubai Customs uses the latest technology and electronic devices to facilitate transacting with and serving clients, and to limit the amount of time taken and effort exerted, which makes business and commerce between Dubai and other countries effective.

On his part, Minister Yaseen Elmi congratulated Dubai, and especially Dubai Customs, on the advanced stage that they have reached and mentioned that Dubai currently use the best, latest and most modernized methods in carrying out several services and transactions, indicating that his country strives to learn from Dubai Customs through fruitful cooperation, especially in the fields of training and modern technology.

The Minister also took a tour of the different departments and sections in Dubai Customs accompanied with several managers and heads of sections to introduce the Minister to mechanisms and processes applied in Customs operations, including the transactions that are carried out electronically over the internet, the Customs training centre which is furnished with the latest training devices, and the Customs museum.
