AUST Network Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering upgrades programmes to meet the market needs

Ajman University of Science and Technology Network's Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering has introduced a number of improvements to its present programms in order to meet the market rapid changing needs.

This was disclosed Dr Mahmoud Abu Naaj, Dean, Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering.

He said, "The new improvements will be introduced in two ways, one through adapting programmes proposed by the American Computer Association and the second by analyzing market executives and managers needs. We are closely monitoring the local, regional and international market and the changes and development occur in them to get our programms adapted to their needs. You can't have a static programms that don't satisfy the market needs, it is essential for the faculty to keep an open eye on what is happening in the local and international market to be able to qualify its students and enable them to compete with their counterparts.'

He added that the rapid growth in the development of computer hardware, software, information technology and its widespread applications in all aspects of life created considerable demand for computer graduates in all specializations. In order to fulfill this demand the faculty of Computer Science and Engineering is offering quality teaching and training programms to prepare its students fore a much needed career in the dynamic and rapidly evolving computing industry of today.

He said, "Our objective is to participate in the overall mission of the university with commitment to high standards of teaching and training and encourage innovation and excellence. The faculty also provide a wide range of computer professionals who may design computers and the software that runs them, develop information technologies and develop and adapt principles for applying computers to new uses. The faculty strives to break the barriers between the academia and the marketplace by accredited students training and encouraging joint students projects to provide the country with the skills that match the market needs."

The faculty offers four kinds of programms including Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor in Computer Engineering, Bachelor in Computer Information System and Diploma in InformationTechnology.
