Ms. Wiaam Shihab Ghanem, Manager, Training & Development Centre, welcomed the 35 representatives from different training institutes and consultancies, and briefed them on the operations and goals of the Centre. Later, Latifa Al Bannai, Supervisor, Training and Development Centre, made a detailed presentation on the Centre's offering, including its multimedia facilities, and screened a video film on its activities.
'The Emirates Post Training & Development Centre was proud to introduce its advanced training facilities and methodologies to the country's leading training institutes and consultancies,' said Ms. Ghanem. 'This is the first time that a government agency has conducted such an initiative. It was an innovative way of strengthening our mutual partnership. This visit enabled us to share our training needs with the institutes as well as expose them to the advanced facilities and tools so that they can use our centre as a venue for conducting training programmes for their clients.'
The visiting representatives were impressed with the facilities and hi-tech tools offered by the Centre, including a state-of-the-art auditorium, a meeting room, three training halls, two training cubicles, projectors, latest Smart boards, shared network and AMX system.
The Training and Development Centre has been positioned as a regional hub for delivering posts-related training. Within a short time, it has won the approval of Universal Postal Union (UPU) for meeting the standards of its TRAINPOST programme and it will serve as the regional base for all training programs organized by UPU. Further, the Centre was recently recognized as the training and testing centre of ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence).
Recently, the Training and Development Centre conducted a training course for 19 employees of Qatar Post in Doha, after developing a special training module based on local market requirements. The Centre delivers training to Emirates Post employees on a continuous basis. A number of other postal organizations from the region have expressed a keen interest in sending their employees for training at the Centre.
