The meeting provided a number of opportunities for specially selected companies involved in the rebuilding process in Iraq. The main objectives behind the meeting were to inform attendees of the immediate needs of the oil sector, the current direction of investment and the services and expertise needed to improve it. Issues also considered included future cooperation between the oil ministry and major oil corporations and the possibility of holding future meetings in Iraq.

A special Questions & Answers forum was held on the opening morning, with representation from across the globe, during which the oil delegation addressed a number of key issues.

"This event was essential for direct communications with the ministry and relationship building," said a spokesman for Pratt & Whitney, who attended the forum.

The success of Iraq Oil & Gas - Amman demonstrates the full support of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and the sector as a whole, which will form a key part of the negotiations to take place at Iraq Procurement - 'Meet the Buyers', Amman, Jordan, the second in a series of high profile events that look to realise the trade and investment potential of Iraq.

The event will be organised with the assistance of Petra Travel & Tourism, the official event organisers.
