DED honours Back-2-School sponsors and supporters

The Department of Economic Development (DED) hosted a special lunch at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel Dubai, in honour of the sponsors and supporters of the Back-2-School Surprises activities, recently organized by the Department.

The members of the Back-2-School Surprises Committee at DED, the sponsors, the companies supporting the events and volunteers were presented with certificates and gifts as a token of appreciation for their work in making the week a success. Mr. Ali Ibrahim, Deputy Director General, DED and Ms. Dhabhya Buti Al Suwaidi, Head Back-2-School Surprises Committee at the DED distributed the appreciation certificates.

"The success of the Back-2-School Surprises is due to the continuous and dedicated effort of all the committee members, sponsors, partner companies and volunteers," said Ms. Dhabhya Buti Al Suwaidi. "We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have been involved in making this event a success and hope we will have their continued co-operation and support next year," she added.

The penultimate week of the Dubai Summer Surprises 2004 generated much fun and excitement for young people while at the same time helping them prepare for the re-opening of schools early next month.

The Department of Economic Development (DED) was established in March 1992, with the objective to organise, regulate and boost trade and industry within the Emirate of Dubai.
