Géant La Carte is supported by the Visa network and is accepted in over 22 million retail locations around the world. Cardholders will collect Géant points for all their purchases worldwide which they can redeem for Géant vouchers.
Jean Marc Le Brun, Group General Manager of Géant Hypermarkets said, 'Géant La Carte represents our strategy which focuses on quality service and added-value benefits. It is a new chapter in Bahrain's retail history and we are proud to launch this unique initiative with the support of our partners HSBC and Visa International. The card is tailored to offer our discerning customers a wide range of exclusive rewards and loyalty incentives as they make their daily purchases.
'Recognized for our unparalleled shopping experience, Géant has contributed significantly to the local shopping experience here in Bahrain. We believe that the new co-branded card marks yet another milestone for Géant, helping us add greater value to our customers.'
A dedicated kiosk has been specifically set up to service Géant La Carte cardholders. Professional staff manning the kiosk will assist cardholders with card application and redemption of Géant Points. The kiosk, which was publicly inaugurated at the official launch, will be open to customers during the Hypermarket hours (10 AM to 12 midnight, 7 days a week). Cardholders would also enjoy priority services through dedicated payment counters at the Géant Hypermarket.
'The growing popularity of payment cards in the region coupled with increasing sophistication of consumer needs played a crucial part in the development of this new product,' said Peter Boland, acting CEO HSBC Bahrain. 'We are constantly seeking to add value to our customers and we believe that successful partnership with leading brands is a very effective way of achieving this'.
Existing HSBC cardholders as well as new customers can apply for the Géant La Carte at the dedicated Géant La Carte kiosk at the Hypermarket or at any of the three HSBC branches.
Vanessa Singh, Business Development Manager, Middle East, Visa International said, 'Co-branded cards are an important financial tool that not only ensure a convenient and secure payment alternative to cash, but also add exclusive consumer value. At a time when Bahrain is witnessing a growing trend of Visa card usage for daily requirements such as groceries, household purchases, gifts and other small value payments, we are happy to be associated with this pioneering venture.'
Le Brun concluded: 'The value of partnership is key to this new initiative. Géant's leadership in consumer retail services, combined with HSBC's international expertise in banking solutions and the reliability and security Visa is recognised for, makes this an ideal synergy. We are confident that the new card will invite an enthusiastic response from Bahrain consumers.'
