'Green' anti-corrosion rust busters target Mid East red lead market
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, August 31 - 2004 at 10:45
- PRESS RELEASE
Environment-friendly anti-corrosion paints, that can replace red lead in the battle against rust, are to be introduced in the Middle East by the Swedish corrosion management specialist Introteknik.
"Isotrol is an ideal rust protection system, when, for different reasons, the degree of cleanliness needed for surface protection with traditional systems is not possible to achieve and red lead is unavailable due to environmental reasons." said Lars Kjellberg, General Manager Introteknik.
"It also has exceptional penetration capability into crevices, and in combination with our epoxy/polyurethane coatings, Isotrol will considerably extend the lifetime of the coating system in tough corrosive environments and thus minimize the maintenance costs."
Chemtex and Corrosion, organised by International Expo-Consults (IEC) will run at the DIEC from September 14-16. The event has exhibitor and visitor footprints taking in the entire Middle East and North Africa, the Sub Continent and CIS region.
"Corrosion costs the region's industries millions of US dollars a year, but experts say more than a quarter of this could be saved by employing state-of-the-art corrosion management practices," said Mohammed Falaknaz, Vice President, IEC.
"Many of the products and technologies to be showcased at Chemtex and Corrosion provide the means to prevent or mitigate the effects of corrosion in diverse industries, including the chemical, petroleum and chemical process sectors."
Introteknik will take part in Chemtex and Corrosion alongside its Middle East agent, Mohammed Amir Bajarai Trading Establishment. The Jeddah-based manufacturer of sealing devices has confirmed plans to open an office and warehouse in the UAE.
In addition to introducing the Isotrol rust protection system, Introteknik has plans to launch a number of other products new to the Middle East including Graffit Green, an anti-graffiti and building protection system, Cemflex, a flexible coating for concrete floors and walls and the innovative Silan technology that prevents stains like oil, soot, wine, cola, ketchup and other aggressive contaminants, adhering to treated surfaces.
