New head for Taj Palace Dubai sales and marketing team

Dubai's top five star property, Taj Palace Hotel, a member of the Taj Group of Hotels, Resorts and Palaces welcomes Sanjeev Tandon as its new Director of Sales and Marketing.

Recently, Sanjeev Tandon served as Director of Sales and Marketing of Sheraton Muscat in Oman since 2000 before joining Taj Palace Dubai. His other hotel experience includes stints at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai, Le Meridien in Saudi Arabia and The Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi. Interestingly, his first hotel job was as a Catering Assistant at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai in 1986.

In his new role, Tandon, will oversee a team of 12 members and will be responsible for the overall sales and marketing activities to drive revenue, increase market penetration and profitability of the hotel. Asked on his visions for the hotel, Tandon comments, "Tourism in Dubai is blazing a glorious trail of success and the Taj Palace, Dubai has played an active role in the hospitality sector. A brilliant property featuring the largest guest rooms in the city with the finest interiors, the hotel offers excellent restaurants ranging from Turkish, Japanese, Italian and the award-winning Indian restaurant 'Handi'. As the new Director of Sales and Marketing, my mission will be to widen our market base and raise our 'revpar'. I plan to develop the corporate market further and increase our share of the "MICE' market. I will also work towards promoting further our excellent conference facilities and our fabulous restaurants".

Sanjeev Tandon has over 16 years of hospitality experience with international hotel chains in India and in the Middle East. He hails from Lucknow in India and holds a Diploma in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai and has an MBA with specialization in Marketing from the S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. Married with two kids, Tandon surely looks forward to a challenging role at the Taj Palace Hotel Dubai.
