Extensive choice and excitement over new retail outlets brought a 15 per cent increase in footfall and a seven per cent rise in stores sales over 2003's figures. The total cross-section of cuisine available at the food court as well as mall events and promotions during Summer Surprises all helped the numbers improve sharply.

"To make shopping at Sahara Centre truly rewarding, we organised several successful promotions," said Mr. Gavin Cox, Managing Director, Sahara Centre. "This year's Summer Surprises have surpassed previous events with shopping to suit everyone's tastes. The highlight was the five Chevrolet TrailBlazers that where won by five lucky customers during the event."

Mr. Gavin Cox said: "Winners' responses were a delight to hear. It is always gratifying to make a difference to your customer experience, and that is what we strive to achieve."

"Despite a challenging UAE business environment at this time of year, Sahara Centre continues to maintain consistently high footfall and sales growth. We thank the Sharjah Economic Department for their support and encouragement," added Cox.

Sahara Centre extended its range of shopping outlets for August by opening several new stores, including After Shock and Camaieu (ladies apparel and fashion), PurePaper (handcrafted paper specialists) and Taroub's Trading Exhibition (gift items and novelties).
