Sheikh Talal Al-Sabah Chairman of KAC

KAC is indeed in challenging times, but the leadership of Sheikh Talal Al-Sabah is accepted by the Members of KAC Board and the staff of KAC.

Sheikh Talal is the ninth Chairman of KAC, since its incorporation in 1954. The Minister of Finance Mr. Mahmoud Abdulrazaq Al-Nouri of the Kuwaiti Parliament issued the Ministerial Decree No. 21 for the year 2004 announcing the appointment of Sheikh Talal Mubarak Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Chairman and Managing Director of Kuwait Airways Corporation to succeed Mr. Ahmed Faisal Al-Zabin the former Chairman of KAC, effective from 14 August 2004.

Sheikh Talal began with his career in KAC in 1977 and continued to participate in the growth and advancement of the Corporation. He started his career path as Commercial Research Officer (1977 -1978) followed by IATA & Tariff Affairs Controller in 1978 - 1979, Assistant Manager of IATA & Tariffs Agreements in 1983 to 1984, Deputy Commercial Director For International Relations & Zonal Affairs in 1984 to 1987, Director of Commercial Department from 1987 to 1993, and Director-General of KAC from 1999 to 2004.

Sheikh Talal is also the Chairman of Kuwait Airways Catering Services, a subsidiary of KAC from 1999 till date, Chairman of the Board of Airline Companies Representatives Operating in Kuwait (BARIK) from 1980 - 1991, Chairman of Automated Systems Company (ASC) from 1987-1992, Member of the work-team for the issuance of the Air-Transport Market Law in the State of Kuwait from 1982 - 1985, Member of the Consultancy - Team for the Air-Transport Policies (APAG) which is affiliated with the International Air Transport Association ( IATA) from 1986 - 1993, and Member of the work-team for Prices & Policies of Air-Transport Market, Aviation Executive Committee-affiliated with the GCC.

Sheikh Talal has presided over several other committees and work-teams within the Corporation, most prominent being the Expenditure Rationalization Committee that played a major role in reducing the losses of KAC by KD 65 Million from 1999. Further, he has chaired the Service Development Committee (SDC) that assumes studying the plans and strategies of KAC for rendering distinctive services to KAC clients.
