Ghossoub, who will take office in 2006 after serving two years as IAA Senior Vice President, the post he now assumes, was chosen unanimously to head the organisation by the 56-member World Board, IAA Chapter Presidents, Area Vice Presidents and Corporate Members, in recognition of his personal contribution and that of Gulf-based and Middle East advertising to the global industry.

Ghossoub, will take over the association's top position from current incumbent, Michael Lee, President, Lee & Steel, Darien, CT, USA, shortly before the IAA World Congress convenes in Dubai during March 2006.

IAA delegates from all over the globe are currently convening in Beijing for the opening of the 39th IAA World Congress to take place from September 7-10. The Congress will explore developing trends in the world of advertising and enhance understanding of China's communications industry and culture.

"Like China, Dubai and the Middle East represent a new power in marketing and advertising which is attracting real interest from outside. Dubai, as a growing hub, is well placed to build on the momentum that current IAA World Congress host Beijing is creating. It is a privilege to represent Dubai in such an important post at a crucial time for Gulf-based economies," said Ghossoub.

As Chief Executive Officer of The Holding Group, Ghossoub has become a leading personality in Middle East communications and has striven to build bridges with international colleagues ever since his IAA involvement began at local level in the early nineties. He was elected President of the UAE Chapter in 1995.

In addition to his business posts, Ghossoub is a Board Member of the Dubai Media Foundation and was recently appointed a member of Dubai Media Inc., chaired by His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince and UAE Minister of Defence.

Decorated by President Emile Lahoud with Lebanon's highest civilian honour earlier this year in recognition of his services in promoting regional and international understanding and cooperation, Ghossoub is a Knight of the Order of the Cedar.
