Procurement strategy is key to the success of any project. In today's competitive business environment project managers need to deliver solutions that meet and, sometimes, exceed customer expectations.

Dr. Mohammed Dulaimi, Senior Lecturer at the British University in Dubai (BUiD) will be talking about innovation in project management at the next BUiD Open Lecture on Wednesday September 8th, 6-7pm, Dr. Dulaimi's talk will focus on how understanding the dynamics of innovation can be a guide as to how projects can be most effectively procured.

"Currently many projects suffer from the lack of co-operation between organizations that has lead to projects becoming battlefields between different companies and individuals" said Dr Dulaimi. "In the lecture I will discuss the concept of innovation and its relevance to project procurement. In particular, I will present some ideas as to how to motivate the different companies on the project to integrate into a cohesive and effective team".

BUiD's Open Lecture series is being held as part of the University's opening celebratory activities. A new lecture will be held every evening (except Friday) from now through September 20th. The lecture series, given by BUiD's academic staff of internationally experienced researchers, will feature the latest developments and research relevant to the UAE in areas such as Informatics, Project Management and Education.
