AUST Network's Faculty of Business administration launches new programme on Finance for the Academic Year 2004 - 2005

Ajman University of Science and Technology AUST Network's Faculty of Business Administration has introduced a new specialization of Finance to be offered to students seeking to be specialized in this area, according to Dr Mohammed Al Shami, Dean, Business Administration, AUST Network.

"We are primarily responding to the labour market needs for such a programme," he added.

"We found that the UAE and the regional markets are rapidly growing in the area of finance. Our primary objective of introducing this course is obviously to meet these requirements and allow a better job opportunity for our graduates", added Dr Al Shami.

"The result of the survey we conducted showed that the marketplace in the region is lacking behind in terms of specialized graduates in the financing sector. It is our duty to respond to the need of our community and nation in order to maintain the strong economic growth and robust performance in the banking and financial sector. The higher educational institutions should support the needs of the market and coordinate with the business community in the private and governmental level to shield the economy of the country,'' he added.

" The faculty has done all its home and ground work to receive the new students. The university's strong international relations with many foreign educational institutions will help the faculty to benefit from experts teaching in these institutions. We are in discussion with a number of reputed institutions in Europe, the US and the UK to create joint efforts, especially with International Euro Money Training to develop programmes that suit our region '', said Dr. Shami.

"We are planning a number of approach symposiums in cooperation with UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industries. Seminars in cooperation with many other economic and financial organization will also be organized to help the students learn more about the trade and finance sectors'', added Dr. Shami.
