- PRESS RELEASE
D-Link, the undisputed industry leader in innovative networking solutions, introduces the DFL-700 network-security, desktop VPN firewall.
The Threat
"With the complexities and levels of potential threats multiplying by the day, network vulnerability is a costly reality that threatens all information-dependant businesses almost without discrimination." Said Wilson Xavier, D-Link ME Business manager. "Corporate-grade network security is no longer a business advantage but a pressing requisite for effective operation and therefore a decisive competitive-advantage in today's information-reliant businesses, especially the small and medium enterprises (SME)." With everything from sensitive corporate files, financial records, personal/ private information etc. at risk from many destructive forces including (but not limited to) hackers, crackers, identity-thieves, viruses, worms, spy-wares, Trojans and spam, SMEs require affordable, corporate-level security solutions to protect their crucial data.
Feature Packed
The new DFL-700 is an easy to install VPN and firewall solution designed specifically for small and medium enterprises, providing superior security and performance. IT comes equipped with a 300Mhz processor and 64MB of RAM allowing it to handle up to 10,000 concurrent service connections with maximum throughput of 50Mbps. The DFL-700 has three (3) 10/100mbps Ethernet ports, which include a trusted LAN port, a WAN port (that supports virtually all WAN connection types), and an independent DMZ (demilitarized zone) port to support local servers such as e-mail, Web, and FTP.
Corporate-grade security for SME
DFL-700 offers unsurpassed protection of your network. It provides absolute firewall function including NAT mode, PAT mode, Transparent mode, Routing mode and stateful packet-inspection (SPI). It supports customized policy and port forwarding options and gives users the option to implement URL blocking, limiting access to unwanted web-sites. DFL-700 also includes advance features like Content filtering which lets you filter and protect the network, Intrusion Detection System (IDS) which monitors packets on the network and attempts to discover if a hacker/cracker is attempting to break into a system and Bandwidth Management that guarantees bandwidth for specific services. DFL-700 also logs all events and provides graphical statistics through its monitoring system.
The extensive logs created also record source IP address and send intrusion reports to specified e-mail address and establish policies to restrict incoming traffic from the specific address sources. Administrators can configure the DFL-700 to send alert e-mails with the attack logs in the events that the firewall detects an attack or intrusion and find out the details of the attack.
VPN Ready
The DFL-700 is not just a firewall but a complete VPN solution as well, it offers both integrated IPSec VPN Client and Server that supports virtually any required VPN policy. It has an embedded accelerator that can manage up to 200 encrypted VPN tunnels. The DFL-700 can support IPSec, PPTP, and L2TP protocol pass-through traffic as well. Advanced VPN configuration options include: AES/DES/3DES encryption, Manual or IKE/ISAKMP key management, Quick/Main/Aggressive Negotiation modes, and VPN authentication support using either an RADIUS server or the internal 500-user database.
The D-Link DFL-700 Firewall, VPN router is now available in the Middle East.
