CO-OP ISLAMI distributor network benefits from knowledge sharing initiative
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, September 08 - 2004 at 12:53
- PRESS RELEASE
In an attempt to maximize benefit from knowledge sharing practices, CO-OP ISLAMI recently organized a 'Partners in Excellence Forum' for its distributors from across the region.
Mr Saleh Saeed Lootah, Managing Director, CO-OP ISLAMI chaired the forum which was attended by Mr Saleh Abdullah Lootah, the Asst. General Manager for operations, Mr Hamid Badawi, the Asst. General Manager for Technical Division and DCS's partners and distributors from across the region. CO-OP ISLAMI also circulated a case study among attendees detailing the benefits and results that impact on business. In addition, the company presented mementos and participation certificates to all attendees and guests at the event.
"CO-OP ISLAMI's position as one of the finest producers and distributors of real halal meat products could not have been achieved without the full-fledged support and co-operation of our partners," said Mr Saleh Saeed Lootah "DCS believes that in order to sustain this success and reach greater heights, we need to generate holistic growth and development across all segments of the organization and its partners. And this can only be achieved if we develop a culture of knowledge sharing and disseminate information on best practices to our partners," he added.
"The DQA Excellence model has served as a premium benchmarking tool and has enabled us to benefit from the internationally recognised criteria for excellence, on which it is based. Preparing for the Dubai Quality Award (DQA), which the CO-OP ISLAMI won earlier this year, has enabled us to understand the Excellence model in detail and we feel it is extremely important to share this knowledge with our partners," he said.
All regional distributors including key personalities, CEOs and GMs of DCS partner companies attended the 'Partners in Excellence Forum,' to share the knowledge of the Dubai Quality Award. Distributors also presented the best practices from their own organizations in a mutual knowledge sharing exercise. The event attempted to create synergistic awareness of the concepts of quality management by means of series of dedicated presentations, interactive workshops and discussions.
The Forum also worked with DCS distributors from Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait towards developing a consensus on how to deploy the Excellence Model within their existing business infrastructure to achieve better results. In addition it attempted to develop a common code of understanding to create a relationship of Win-Win Partnership with the distributors.
"The Forum proved to be a great success because of the active participation of our distributors and partner companies. They invested both their time and effort in this interactive event and contributed greatly to shortening the learning process," Lootah concluded.
