- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, September 09 - 2004 at 12:00
- PRESS RELEASE
EuroTelekom International Ltd., a leading supplier of telecommunication equipment announced that it would launch an exciting new range of digital cordless telephones at the forthcoming GITEX 2004 to be held from October 3 to 7, 2004 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
"Wireless telephone connectivity has begun to assume great significance in today's hi tech world where constant mobility and uninterrupted communication networks are crucial to successful business environments," said Mr. Adib Akkaoui, General Manager, EuroTelekom International Ltd. "We at EuroTelekom fully understand the specific requirements of diverse markets and cultures and draw from our experience to offer our customers the best available products at competitive prices," he added.
"Our extensive range of cordless telephones is based on DECT Technology, a digital wireless technology, which originated in Europe, and is now making its presence felt world wide in commercial and residential scenarios," said Mr. Akkaoui.
DECT, a flexible digital radio access standard for cordless communications in residential, corporate and public environments, is an upgrade on the GSM - Global System for Mobile network. It works on radio access technology and is compatible with other types of networks such as the PSTN (Public Switching Telephone Network), ISDN (Integrated Service for Digital Network), GSM (Global System for Mobile) and more. A voice-centric standard for cordless telephony, DECT can be used for a wireless data link.
With "ecom" range of DECT telephones, users no longer have to reach out for the mobile phone to avail those special services associated with mobile technology. The same benefits including SMS/MMS/CID/CLIR functions, phonebook, multilingual menu guidance and others will be accessible to them on their cordless home and business telephones. Its many advanced features have also allowed the DECT-based cordless systems to play a pivotal role in communication developments such as voice and multimedia traffic and Internet access, in addition to providing seamless connectivity with other fixed and wireless services such as GSM and ISDN.
Based on state of the art European technology, the "ecom" range of telephones has futuristic designs and combine perfect form, colour and style with quality. They are aligned to meet the growing needs of today's world and integrate accessories and features that accommodate the latest multimedia protocols.
Visitors to GITEX 2004 can find our products in Hall 2, Booth N2-2.
