Middle East's SMB sector, utility computing main areas of focus for VERITAS at GITEX
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, September 09 - 2004 at 12:05
- PRESS RELEASE
The Middle East operations of VERITAS Software Corporation (Nasdaq: VRTS) announced today that the upcoming GITEX exhibition will enable the company to enhance its market reach with small and medium-size businesses (SMB), one of the fastest-growing market segments for VERITAS in the Middle East region.
In the build-up to the GITEX exhibition and following the trade show, VERITAS is hosting a series of channel and end-user events in up to 8 locations across the Middle East and North Africa, showcasing its solutions for the SMB sector and ensuring that both resellers and customers have the tools they need to protect and manage their growing stores of corporate data. Building on the success of the company's recent VISION storage summit in the UAE, VERITAS will also be hosting a series of individual workshops for enterprise customers around the region that articulate the business advantages of the utility computing model.
"The SMB market presents the greatest growth opportunity for VERITAS in the Middle East, especially given our existing leadership in the enterprise space here, and the understanding we've developed of the region's business needs by participating in previous GITEX exhibitions. Partnering with Aptec, Emirates Computers and Mindware at GITEX enables VERITAS to reach both regional decision-makers and the reseller community targeting those organizations," commented Sam Tayan, regional manager for VERITAS Middle East.
"GITEX also affords us an opportunity to meet both existing and potential customers, and provides a platform to demonstrate for them VERITAS' full spectrum of data management, storage resource management, and application performance management solutions. By recognizing the practical value of utility computing and understanding what initial steps must be taken, VERITAS offers a variety of products and technologies to help companies in the Middle East incrementally implement a utility computing model for data protection, high availability, and disaster recovery," he continued.
VERITAS' building block approach to utility computing provides availability, performance and automation software, which is designed so that customers' data is always available, provisioned at expected performance levels, and automated to reduce administrative costs.
