- PRESS RELEASE
The Chrysler 300C, Chrysler's hottest new product set to enter the UAE market in November, has received a 5-Star rating for driver and front passenger protection in a frontal crash, the highest rating in the U.S. government's safety crash test program.
A 5-Star rating in the government's frontal crash test means there is a 10 percent or less chance of serious injury in a severe, 35 mph crash. The testing is conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"The Chrysler Group is committed to offering our customers safety and value in all of our products," said Tony Ashton, Sales and Marketng Manager, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge, Trading Enterprises, a member of the Al Futtaim Group. "These top ratings are evidence of its efforts and if customers want to know more they can visit our showrooms for a test drive."
The Chrysler 300C is equipped with a wide array of safety technologies including an Advanced Multi-stage Air Bag System, all-speed Traction Control and an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) which aids the driver in maintaining vehicle directional stability, providing oversteer and understeer control to maintain vehicle behavior on various road surfaces.
With a long bonnet, short deck and dramatic profile complete with 18-inch wheels, the classic proportions of the 300C give the car stunning on-road presence.
More importantly, the legendary 'Hemi' engine design that powered Chrysler's 'Letter Series' cars in the 1950s has been reborn as a modern, fuel-efficient 5.7-litre HEMI V-8 with 340hp and 387 lb.-ft. of torque and an acceleration time of 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds.
The Chrysler 300C is also the first modern volume production vehicle introduced into the Middle East to feature cylinder deactivation. The Chrysler Group's Multi-Displacement System (MDS) seamlessly turns off the fuel consumption in four cylinders of the 5.7-litre HEMI engine when V-8 power is not needed. This provides a world-class combination of outstanding performance, power and competitive fuel economy.
