Nationals conclude Emirates summer training
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, September 11 - 2004 at 15:09
- PRESS RELEASE
In an on-going effort to train and employ more nationals, Emirates presented certificates of appreciation to 36 national summer trainees at the Emirates Aviation College after they completed a two-month assignment on real-life projects within the airline.
The students are selected after assessment by the Emirates National Recruitment team based in the Human Resources department. During the programme, the trainees are exposed to challenging tasks in areas as diverse as airport operations, procurement and logistics and human resources.
Fahad Al Hassawi, Emirates' Vice President Human Resources (Employee Services), said: "This initiative is an important part of our company's investment in the local community. Each summer it provides an excellent introduction of Emirates to a group of talented nationals and gives them a good idea of the different kinds of jobs within our organisation."
"This year's programme has been another big success. I am impressed by the high caliber of the young Emiratis invited to participate and delighted by their interest in taking full advantage of the programme. They worked hard and their efforts were well appreciated."
This year Emirates will train approximately 400 UAE nationals in full-time positions, reflecting its commitment to national recruitment and the government's initiatives, even as the Group continues to expand globally. The airline runs training programmes for national graduates, pilots, cabin crew and flight engineers.
