Le Royal Meridien completes refinement programme

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, September 13 - 2004 at 09:56
  • PRESS RELEASE

The award-winning Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa, currently celebrating a Decade of Excellence, has just completed a refinement programme of its Club building.

The programme focused on the refurbishment of all the bedrooms in the Club building, the Club lounge as well as the Mi Vida and Seabreeze restaurants.

Pam Wilby, the hotel's general manager, said: "Since gaining the Royal status four years ago, it has been our aim to complement and constantly evolve all areas in the hotel to meet the deluxe tier standards, from our spa, restaurants and leisure facilities to the rooms themselves.

"Le Royal branding demands the highest quality throughout the facilities, and we also need to keep one step ahead of our competitors.

"This is especially true as we celebrate our Decade of Excellence: we were the first hotel on the Jumeirah Beach strip, and we will keep improving the facilities and service offering year on year."

The project was scheduled for the resort's quieter period and did not have any impact on the hotel's summer targets.

Wilby explained: "We have a number of exciting ideas on the drawing board for next year, which have come as a direct response to feedback from both our guests and UAE residents.

"Next year, with the opening of our sister property Grosvenor House, West Marina Beach, Dubai, our guests will have access to 13 new restaurants and bars. These developments across both properties will play an important part in our positioning as a premier luxury leisure destination.

Exceptional occupancies during the first six months of the year across Le Meridien's city properties and resort hotels have also endorsed the group's strategy to develop its existing destinations in the region, in anticipation of increased tourism spin-off from the Dubai hub, as well as take on new properties.

Le Meridien's hotels have repeatedly run at 100 per cent occupancy in the past year, and its beach hotels are regularly hitting occupancies in the high 80s, despite the off-peak season, with revenue also up on last year across the board.
