GM Yannick Poupon will represent the hotel and will join DTCM from September 14 to 17th, as it visits three main cities namely Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. This promotion drive targeting the South African market is expected to yield positive results and to help boost the visitor arrival to Dubai from South Africa. Taj Palace Dubai is also working alongside major airline players to capture a sizable share of the Dubai stopover business.

Poupon exclaimed," We are happy to note that our market penetration of South Africa is growing. We thank the major travel and tour operators who have been supporting and promoting Taj Palace Dubai to their clients. We enjoy a good reputation in South Africa and people do recognize us by our name. The profile of our brand is well renowned in the region that enjoys close proximity to India, where the Taj Group is largely based."

Commenting on the excellent summer month performance of the hotel, Yannick Poupon added, "The summer period was really busy for us. The hotel enjoyed full 100% hotel occupancy for duration of the Dubai Summer Surprise period. We did match our excellent performance in 2003. Overall, it is a very good month to benchmark for 2005. On the RevPar (Revenue per available room) arena Taj Palace Dubai has taken the second lead amongst five star hotels in the city competitive set. Our Average Room Rate (ARR) has increased by 16% compared to August 2003 performance. With these very encouraging results, Taj Palace Dubai is focusing its efforts in closing the year with business performance and revenue profits better than expected.
