Part of the company's stand, which will be located in Hall 3, Stand Q3-3 will be dedicated to the art of the digital living, and will feature the new Entertainment PC to demonstrate to users how new, intelligent PCs fitted in brand new form factors can enable them to unlock their digital content and gain new flexibility in using it around their home. The company also plans on running demonstrations based around 3rd party digital media adaptors to further help users understand the concept of the digital home.

Previewing the GITEX experience, Samir Al-Schamma, Intel's General Manager in the Gulf Countries said that digital living is based on the new flexibility afforded by wireless networking technologies for the home. "Occupants of a digital home inhabit a space where data moves at high speed and information is available any time, any place, and in any mode. The concept of the digital home unlocks the content on our PCs and allows making better use of it by enabling us to share it across multiple devices in our home"

Intel's first demonstration will focus on the Entertainment PC in a modern residential setting. "While the Entertainment PC breaks the mould of the traditional PC form-factor, it is also designed to fit - very stylishly - into a traditional consumer electronics form-factor, constituting a great accessory to modern living. But what would appeal most to consumers is the powerful combination of the features and flexibility of an Entertainment PC that will allow them to replace nearly all of the traditional components in their hi-fi and/or home theatre setup," added Al-Schamma, "They can see, experience and discover how the Entertainment PC can play hi-definition videos and DVDs on surround sound speakers; listen to radio streamed from the internet; wirelessly connect to several other computers in a single home or share digital content among them."

The other demonstration will focus on how various types of digital media adaptors can allow users to enjoy their digital content when they want it and how they want it. By receiving data sent wirelessly from PCs and transferring it to TV screens and Hi-Fi systems, digital media adaptors represent a simple yet effective solution for users who truly want to have a digital home solution with their desktop PC.

"We want to approach the concept of the digital home in an experiential way in the Middle East" concluded Al-Schamma "it is such a new and versatile concept that people need to see it, test and feel it in order to understand how it works and realize the many ways in which it can help them add quality to their life in today's modern, ultra connected world."
