MMI Logistics, a division of Maritime and Mercantile International (the MMI Group), has been chosen by Dubai Municipality Health Department as a partner to launch the government department's online services.

"We recognise MMI Logistics as one of our biggest clients, and have identified them as a potential partner who can work alongside us during the launch and testing phase of this unique service," stated Hussain N. Lootah, Assistant Director General for Environment and Public Health Affairs and Chairman of Dubai Municipality's e-government Steering Committee.

The Dubai Municipality Health Certificates Online Service, launched on March 11th, aims to offer organisations the convenience of applying for various health certificates, address enquiries and receive results of various industrial tests from the confines of their respective offices. The online certificates include food, veterinary and clinic certificates, and are available for the same cost as the existing physical versions.

MMI Logistics has been one of the government department's largest clients since its inception, handling certifications every day. The company has also been involved in developing the system alongside the Dubai Municipality team. "It is an honour to be invited to participate in this groundbreaking forum, and we are glad to be among the companies who worked with Dubai Municipality on initiating this project," stated Mike Lee, Manager, MMI Logistics.

"At MMI, we firmly believe that technology is the key to progress and all our endeavours are geared towards perfecting our services with minimal waste of time and money," Lee stated, adding that last year MMI Logistics has also been the first choice for the Dubai Department of Ports and Customs' while they launched their e-Mirsal service.

"MMI Logistics has been associated with the Dubai Municipality e-project for a few months now," stated Ramzi Zarouni, Liaison Officer, MMI Logistics. "We have always had a task force assigned to maximise efficiency for the health certification process, adhering to various international requirements. With this service, we save on both time and energy, and can process a large number of documents merely by logging on to the Internet," said Zarouni, who also heads the MMI Logistics task force.

The online health services allows MMI Logistics to service their large food-industry clients like Costa coffee, Unilever, Ferrero Rocher, United Biscuits and Ralston Purina, with greater ease and efficiency.
