Toshiba introduces new notebooks, future regional plans
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, September 14 - 2004 at 16:50
- PRESS RELEASE
Toshiba continues on the cutting edge of intelligent design and industry-leading quality standards with the pre-GITEX launch of two new widescreen notebooks to the consumer market.
Creating long-lasting relationships with the customer in new and existing markets will ultimately lead Toshiba to the forefront of third generation computing where notebooks are simply a part of everyday life and Toshiba is the brand of choice.
With GITEX 2004 coming up in October, Toshiba's presence reinforces its position as a technology leader. The two-storey stand located in Hall 3 commands attention with interactive displays; a dedicated "new innovation" area highlighting future technologies and design studies; a 'technology museum' featuring the history of notebooks starting from 1985; a consumer area showcasing gaming, digital convergence and multimedia scenarios, and a business section demonstrating Toshiba's portability and value notebooks for large accounts and SMB.
"Our business objectives remain to growing both revenue and volume ahead of the market with a clear emphasis on profitability," said Ahmed Khalil. Returning as Toshiba's General Manager for Middle East and Africa, Khalil expects the company to reach substantial growth targets in the Middle East while breaking ground in new African territories.
The much-awaited introduction of the Qosmio series to the Middle East market will also be launched during GITEX 2004. A milestone in Toshiba's move into the home digital convergence space, the Qosmio series delivers advanced consumer electronics functionality within a notebook PC in a way that's never been seen before.
"Toshiba raises the bar for multimedia notebooks with the new Qosmio series combining PC functionality with advanced consumer electronic capabilities in one device," said Santosh Varghese, Toshiba's regional sales manager.
"Qosmio will have users connecting, creating and being entertained in their own personal universe. Its outstanding capabilities will be fully demonstrated for the first time in the Middle East during GITEX 2004," he added.
The new Qosmio series incorporates Toshiba's Intellectual Property (IP) policy change that keeps the company's advanced technology exclusively for use at Toshiba six to nine months before patenting and distributing worldwide.
Satellite P30 series
The Satellite P30 represents a true desktop replacement in the form of an advanced portable entertainment platform perfect for gaming enthusiasts or small/home offices.
Building on Toshiba's heritage in intelligent design and enhanced feature-set, the new machine is equipped with a 17-inch wide-screen LCD, virtual surround sound through SRS Trusurround XT technology, large Harman / Kardon speakers, and CD/DVD control buttons. By providing an easy-to-access, advanced cinema viewing experience, the Satellite P30 notebook PC allows consumers to effortlessly watch DVDs or listen to CDs, as well as enables small businesses to create and view graphic-rich presentations.
Combined with faster, more efficient graphics performance afforded by the ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9700 external graphics card, the Satellite P30 is a must for gaming enthusiasts wanting greater user flexibility than that which is offered by a traditional desktop PC. In response to the rise in personal digital content, Toshiba has equipped the Satellite P30 with a large hard disk drive of up to 100GB, ensuring there is plenty of space for those wanting to download, manage or create music/video files or photography.
Available in metallic red with a silver palm-rest, the Satellite P30 notebook PCs' innovative, sleek design ensures it will look stunning in any home or small home / office environment.
Satellite M30X series
The Satellite M30X proves ideal for students or home users wanting mid-range functionality, the opportunity to manage and create entertainment content and to enjoy the benefits of mobility through wireless connectivity.
Designed for consumers, families, students and gamers, the Satellite M30X offers a 15.4-inch ultra-bright wide-screen display, providing images that are brighter than standard wide-screen LCD's found in the market today. The Satellite M30X also includes SRS WOW XT & SRS TruSurround XT technology, so users can enjoy a more cinematic-quality experience when listening to music or watching movies. Fully wireless (802.11 b/g) compliant, the Satellite M30X also comes equipped with three USB 2.0 ports so that a multiple range of devices and other peripherals can be quickly connected at home or on the move.
The Satellite M30X comes packaged in a sleek, metallic hyper-silver case, providing consumers with an efficient, reliable and intelligent notebook PC, featuring an ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9700 external graphics card and Intel Centrino Mobile Technology.
"Toshiba is committed to pre-empting the varied needs of consumers," commented Varghese. "The Satellite P30 and Satellite M30X are excellent examples of the choice Toshiba is offering to ensure that Middle East consumers can find the right level of functionality and performance within their budget. They can also be rest assured that all notebooks across the Toshiba range bear the same mark of intelligent design and industry-leading quality standards."
