Jacky's, vendors team up to train GITEX Computer Shopper salespeople

Leading international retailer of electronics and general merchandise and regional e-commerce pioneer, Jacky's has embarked on an extensive training exercise with major vendors to enhance the technical expertise and level of service provided by its staff during GITEX Computer Shopper 2004.

Leading vendors, HP, Samsung, Acer, IBM, Canon, BenQ, LG, Kodak along with other camera and PDA manufacturers will be providing the technical training to a team of about 25 Jacky's employees over a 45-day period.

Discussing the benefits that the Jacky's sales team will gain through this training, Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer, Jacky's said, "The seven days of GITEX provides high-pressure situations with companies vying with each other for the attention of the 75,000 visitors. The training by our vendors has given our sales team both tangible and intangible benefits such as up-to-date product information and confidence and our sales team is all geared up and focused on making this year's GITEX one of our best."

He added that at GITEX sales teams need to be able to think on their feet, know all about the various products and be able to answer queries promptly and accurately. "The extensive training that our vendors are imparting to the team will be invaluable in achieving this. The training encompasses product updates, sales tools, and competitor product information which will enhance customer service at the stall," he said.

The training program will help the sales team maximize the effectiveness of the each customer encounter. It will also teach salespeople a systematic selling process, which will make it easier for them to apply specific selling techniques based on customer-initiated buying signals.

"This training will enhance the sales team's expertise in influencing customers make positive purchasing decisions. The product training on the other hand has been designed to ensure the full understanding of the functionalities and nuances of the products," said Panjabi.

The Jacky's stand will feature mobiles, PDAs, laptops, peripherals, all-in-one printers, scanners, projectors and MP3 players along with a host of other innovative products.
