- PRESS RELEASE
Global Technology Services (GTS) has concluded a contract with Qatar Fuel Company (WOQOD) to roll out Oracle's E-Business Suite, with the project due to be completed within 6 months.
The signing ceremony took place between Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC)/ GTS delegation led by Mr. Tayyeb Al Mulla, Chief Executive, IRM and Vice Chairman and the Managing Director of WOQOD, Mr. Mohammed Khalifa Al Sobai, and Mr. Husam Dajani, Vice President, Oracle Middle East at ENOC headquarters on September 2.
WOQOD is a Qatari public share company with Qatar Petroleum being a major shareholder. The company provides and distributes all of Qatar's energy needs such as gasoline and diesel for vehicles, boats and industry, LPG for cooking and aviation fuel for Doha International Airport.
"WOQOD's vision is to be the leading petroleum and related services marketing company in the region". By signing this contract with GTS, it is underlining this aim, said Mr. Al Sobai. "Through the use of Oracle Financials and the proper retail automation solution, the company will experience a far superior level of business automation and seamless enterprise integration to streamline information flow."
GTS will implement Oracle E-Business Suite, covering finance, supply chain, asset management and human resource management modules. The optional component offered to WOQOD comprises Retail automation systems for fuel distribution and C Stores.
"WOQOD will now have even greater control over key business processes, with increased transparency, faster processing and more informed decision making. The company's financial information will now be consolidated and available in real-time, which makes it a more efficient, productive, and knowledge-based organization." Commented Husam Dajani, Oracle's VP for the Middle East and Africa.
Technological improvements are currently of vital importance to WOQOD, as it is expanding rapidly and has plans to open many new service stations in Qatar.
The new service stations will have improved forecourts and customer service levels, large convenience stores, car washing facilities and maintenance facilities which will include lubrication, tire change and workshop repairs.
WOQOD's major investment projects include a new LPG bottling plant and the management of the supply of Natural Gas to the New Industrial Area in Doha. The latter project will reduce the cost of high energy use industries so making them more cost competitive.
