During the exhibition Xerox Emirates also unveiled its Documentum technology, to manage content and digital assets.

The company rounded off its participation in the two-day event, by presenting papers on knowledge management and demonstrating its award winning application "Aureka", at the conference that accompanied the exhibition.

Mr. Keith Taylor the General Manager of Xerox Emirates said: "Xerox Emirates was proud to reinforce the XGS offering in the UAE, through its participation in Doc.World 2002. XGS is dedicated to supporting Xerox solutions in the country, by facilitating the knowledge transfer that has made Xerox, one of the leaders in the global content and knowledge management industry."

"We were also encouraged by the phenomenal response to our Documentum technology during the exhibition. Documentum, which can be used by organizations to effectively manage content and digital assets, is the only product in the market today that squarely addresses the enterprise segment."

Stressing the need for local businesses to adopt effective document management solutions Mr. Taylor further said: "Xerox recognises that in today's knowledge driven economy, a company's value is increasingly based on its intellectual assets. Business organizations are now faced with the dual challenge of knowledge creation, on the one hand, and the setting up a mechanism wherein such knowledge can be used and shared effectively, on the other."

Mr. Mohamed Moharram, UAE Manager for XGS said: "Xerox has played a key role in revolutionising the process of information dissemination and sharing by introducing a range of innovative document and content management solutions. In the UAE, Xerox Emirates will use XGS' expertise to provide its local customers with a wide range of consulting services in the area of document management."

The company, which also represents world-wide Xerox partners such as Alchemy, Documentum and Kofax, will also make available to its customer base a wide range of Xerox tools and techniques, such as DocuShare and Flowport, to facilitate better systems for knowledge sharing in organisations.

Mr. Ronald Souto, Middle East Manager for XGS said: "XGS's offerings are expected to grow significantly in 2002, due to an increasing interest among organizations across the globe, in making corporate documents and content more easily accessible and secure in digital form.

"We will work closely with Xerox Emirates in addressing the rapidly growing services market in the UAE, by providing Xerox customers with document management solutions that improve their work-flow and business processes to achieve better results," he added.
