In the excitement and anticipation surrounding the faster and much improved ADSL 2 and ADSL2+ services, likely to be offered in the region very soon, users of D-link's ADSL products will now be able to upgrade their hardware with the latest product firmware for complete compatibility with the next-generation ADSL standards.

The Future of ADSL
These new standards, designed to double or even triple Internet speeds offered with existing ADSL services, will open the doors to the next-level of Internet connectivity. As ADSL2 /2+ services become more geographically available over time and prices become more economical, there is likely to be a transition from the lower speeds to the new standards by most discerning users. Products not designed to handle the new standards will require replacement or upgrades.

In addition to increasing download times from 8Mbps to 24Mbps, ADSL2+ also overcomes the 'distance-from-exchange' limitations experienced in current ADSL technology. Power-consumption is also improved while maintaining ADSL's always-on functionality.

Engineered for maximum value
"D-Link believes in enhancing its users' experience by adding value to its products at various levels. With the rapid rate at which networking technology is evolving, users consider longevity as an equally important aspect in their selection as say speed and reliability," Said Sumedh. G, D-link technical-engineer. "D-link integrates future-proofing features into its ADSL technology, which are likely to save both time and money caused by network downtime. Users can consider D-Link's ADSL lineup as an investment not likely to become obsolete for a long time to come. No lost productivity and costly hardware upgrades."

2-Minute Upgrade
D-Link's range of ADSL products can be upgraded to the new ADSL standards. These include:

DSL-G604T - One box wireless solution for ADSL. With built-in modem and IP router. 4 port 10/100 switch integrated. Fast wireless G connectivity

DSL-504T - Wired solution for ADSL. Built-in ADSL modem with IP router and 4 port 10/100switch. 10/100 Wired connectivity

DSL-500T - ADSL Router

DSL300T - ADSL Modem with built-in Ethernet

DSL-320T - ADSL Modem with built-in Ethernet and USB connectivity

"Firmware upgrades for these ADSL products are simple and fast. Users can download the latest ASDL2+ supportive firmware from D-Link's website and install in minutes. Moments later they are ready for a whole new Internet experience'" said Sumedh.
