OnLine showcases new networking infrastructure technology at Gitex
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, September 22 - 2004 at 15:09
- PRESS RELEASE
OnLine Distribution, the Middle East's leading distributor for networking products and solutions, will be showcasing new networking products and technology at this year's Gitex, the Middle East's premier information technology & communications event.
The Molex Premise Networks Real Time Patching System, which comprises of intelligent patch panels, patch cords, integration strips, cable and physical layer management hardware and software provides IT managers with real time cabling infrastructure information, monitors moves, adds and changes and facilitates automated network mapping and works orders. Configuration of the system is simple and integral self-learning port identification reduces set up time. Scalability of the system is unlimited and it can be managed locally, remotely. or via web connection.
A key feature of this system is that it can be retrofitted to legacy cabling systems in addition to new installations, thus giving companies the ability to migrate to intelligent connectivity management throughout their organisations regardless of the age and tenure of their existing infrastructure.
Molex Real Time system and its network security
For only a small proportion of an organisation's overall security budget, modern intelligent infrastructure management (IIM) systems, such as Molex's Real Time solution enable the physical network infrastructure to detect deliberate or inadvertent potential threats to the network, from the inside, before they occur.
With the Real Time system, devices connected to the network are automatically detected and electronically logged, as are any changes in network connections. Network connections can be correlated with physical location of network access point so the disconnection of a key patchcord can be fixed in minutes - potentially saving downtime costs. Security devices such as cameras, access switches and motion detectors can be set-up and correlated with network event and access logs. In a disaster recovery situation modern intelligent infrastructure management systems provide a 'snapshot' of the full connectivity requirement of the affected organisation.
With accompanying software modules, the Real Time system can be used by the network manager to identify where and when a device is being used to download sensitive information and pinpoint the exact location of the device down to the jack/wallplate to which it is connected. Network connectivity can further be checked against business rules - authorisation, event schedules and work orders. Particularly in remote sites where the network manager is not always present, the ability to monitor and track sites centrally with instant notification of remote connectivity changes and their route cause is a key security advantage.
NORDX/CDT IBDN System 4800LX
OnLine also address the needs of the networking infrastructure market with the IBDN System 4800LX that is made up of state-of-the-art cabling and connectivity components. The 4800LX cable, included as part of the system, is a cable from NORDX/CDT that offers greater signal power and signal-to-noise performance. Working in conjunction with the IBDN 4800LX cable is the new series of IBDN PS6 modular outlets and PS6 modular cords. The combination of this premium cable and connectivity hardware results in the unparalleled end-to-end performance of the IBDN System 4800LX.
ORTRONICS Clarity Angled Patch Panels
Ortronics' Angled Clarity Patch Panels are built around the elevated performance of Clarity6 and Clarity5E to provide an improved alternative for applications that don't offer rack space for horizontal management. These high-density patch panels utilize a unique recessed angle design to help direct cords more easily to vertical rack or cabinet cable management within a lower profile.
Mighty MoŽ 6 Cable Management System
Mighty Mo 6 is a complete advanced racking system specifically designed for higher density cabling applications, such as premises networks, data centers and SANs. Its innovative design features patented rear channels to securely route distribution cables, and front-mounted vertical management cages to protect patch cords, while allowing easy access for moves, adds and changes, as well as rack unit markings and a deeper top trough.
Corning Cable Systems
Corning Cable Systems will be premiering, for the first time, its new high-end solutions package. The company offers the broadest range of end-to-end fibre optic and copper product solutions for customers' telecommunications networks.
The new solutions package is a premier cabling solution for optical fibre LAN (Local Area Network) and Data Centre applications. It features innovative products, award-winning customer and technical support and engineering services. Also included are product performance enhancements for 10 Gigabit network capability and ease-of-use attributes for faster deployment, simpler network management and administration.
In addition to the opportunity to meet vendors' representatives and new products, OnLine will be unveiling its new identity to reflect its expansion, and renewed commitment to its partners.
APW Image 620 enclosure platform
The new Image 620, the latest global enclosure platform from APW Enclosure Solutions, is a versatile multi-function enclosure, equally at home in the networking environment as it is in the broadcast, electronics and security markets. It combines outstanding functionality with elegant styling, enabling the cabinet to be installed in even the most modern office or studio environment with complete confidence.
Image 620 is available in heights of 27U to 43U, with widths of 600 or 800mm and depths of 600, 800 and 1000mm, enabling it to be used as a server rack capable of housing even the deepest servers currently manufactured. It gives the networking installer excellent cable management capability, while the comprehensive range of accessories and the 500kg load rating make it a versatile and easily configured cabinet for the broadcast and electronics markets. As a further convenience, the APW 620 is supplied either assembled or flat-packed, significantly reducing transportation costs and delivery to sites where access with an assembled cabinet is difficult.
