  • PRESS RELEASE

Scores of mid-size ICT companies from Taiwan, Korea and China are making a beeline to GITEX, in addition to the representation by multinational giants, such as Sony, Samsung and LG who are headquartered in the Far East, announced organisers Dubai World Trade Centre.

A total of 111 new companies from these countries will participate in GITEX 2004, which runs from October 3 to 7 at the DWTC Complex, with Taiwan, China and Korea jointly increasing their presence by more than 300 exhibitors.

Helal Saeed Khalfan Al Marri, Director General, DWTC said, "GITEX attracts decision makers from diverse industry segments. Last year's surveys indicated that 66% of the visitors to GITEX attended the event to source new products and 12% indicated that they wanted to identify new suppliers through the exhibition. It is not surprising that new companies choose to participate in GITEX given that networking and collaborations are the central goal of the event."

Kelly Ryoo, Managing Director of Ace Media and Marketing, representative of the Korean participants said, "Approximately, fifty percent of the companies that are participating in the Korean pavilion are expecting to establish their Middle East presence through GITEX. On an individual level, all the old exhibitors have taken more space per stand. GITEX enjoys excellent credentials with ICT corporates based in Korea, due to the positive experiences of past exhibitors."

Amongst the major companies participating from Korea are PC Modem manufacturers, SEROME Electronics, MP3 player manufacturer, Jungsoft, Soretech, Nextway, Smart Power Solution, K&H International, Penman Corp., Chung Won Electronics, Bong Woo Electronics, Sevitech, Dot Wizard, Albanda Korea, Ink Nora Co. Ltd, LPS Device, ATEC System, Inktec. Co. Ltd, EC World Corporation and several others.

Explains Miso Tseng, Sales Director, Ace Forum, "Asian Tiger economies have always benefited from the incremental growth figures in the hardware and software sectors within the Middle East. This year, the Chinese contingent has representation from 55 new companies, a testimony to the strong growth figures enjoyed by the Chinese ICT industry. Moreover, Taiwan has representation from 46 new companies. GITEX has a proven track record of being the perfect vehicle to highlight the offerings of these companies to the Middle East market."

The companies participating from China and Taiwan include Ecc Technology, Shenzhen Longitek Technology, Maxpower International, Somic Guangdong, Shengli Electronic, Bitspower International, Grand Advance Technology, San Jose Navigation, and Universal Network amongst many others.
