Mall of the Emirates announces official identity of snow park
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, September 28 - 2004 at 13:33
- PRESS RELEASE
A 400 metre long ski slope with varying terrain, a snow area the size of three football fields, over 6000 tons of real snow at any given time and a full capacity of 1500 guests - all features of the newly named Ski Dubai snow resort at Mall of the Emirates on Sheikh Zayed Road.
"Choosing a name for the snow park is an integral part of the brand development; our goal was to select a brand name which is simple, memorable and catchy while still capturing the essence of the resort," says Peter Walichnowski, CEO, MAF Investments, "The name, combined with the technological innovations being utilised, will position both Mall of the Emirates and Dubai firmly at the forefront of indoor winter sport facilities and snow playgrounds, in the Middle East and the world over."
When complete, Ski Dubai will feature five different ski runs, a dedicated learners area, snowboard stunt park and quarter pipe, as well as a 3000 square metre snow play area, where many children from the region will be able to experience snow for the first time. Fresh snow will be made daily to offer ideal skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing conditions every day.
Construction on the Ski Dubai project continues on schedule and is on track for timely completion by September 2005, with snow production commencing in June.
