Greater regional partnership is key to e-learning & liberalisation progress says int@j at GITEX 2004
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, September 28 - 2004 at 13:46
- PRESS RELEASE
The Information Technology Association - Jordan (int@j) today announced the line-up of its members who will be participating in GITEX this year, consisting of nine key players from the Jordanian Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry.
According to Bilal Abuzeid, CEO of int@j, with market liberalisation and reform becoming increasingly common across the region's economies, technological innovation in an investment-friendly environment is the key to the Middle East playing a stronger role in the international ICT market. int@j's key focus for 2005 will be to raise awareness of ICT opportunities both in Jordan and across the regional IT sector.
"Strategic partnerships between countries are the obvious next step to competing effectively in the international marketplace" says Abuzeid, "Combining resources and sharing expertise allows us to reduce the duplication of efforts and concentrate on maximising individual strengths for the benefit of the whole region."
This year Jordanian investment opportunities and ICT innovations will be represented at the Jordan pavilion in the Sheikh Rashid Hall. Exhibitors at the stand will include leading Jordanian hardware and software solutions providers such as Integrated Technology Group (ITG), Eskadenia Software Solutions, Samsync, AlliedSoft, Globitel, Computer Engineering Bureau (CEB) and Ideal Group, as well as government organisations such as the Ministry of Information & Communications Technology (MoICT) and the Jordan Investment Board (JIB).
Also, cementing Jordan's place as one of the region's pioneers in the field of education, this year at GITEX, int@j and the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology will place special emphasis on its various e-learning initiatives and their successful implementation.
"The Jordan Education Initiative is the first of its kind in the world and int@j has been involved at every stage of the program's execution," continues Abuzeid, "E-learning is the future of education and we rank it as one of our highest priorities when we look at developing hardware and software solutions."
