- PRESS RELEASE
LG Electronics is to sponsor the first International Public Relations Association (IPRA) conference to take place in Dubai between December 12th-15th, 2004.
"PR is evolving in the Middle East as institutions and societies face the increasing pace of change heightened by awareness and sophistication," said Hamad Malik, Senior Regional Manager, Marketing & Corporate Communications, LG Electronics.
"Communication plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships and public relations has been actively adopted as a key marketing communications tool throughout the region."
Addressing over 400 international PR professionals at the event, LG Electronics will also lead a thought-evoking discussion on 'A Network of Convenience: Questioning Industry Trends to Create Transparent PR Campaigns'. "Within this, we will also look at the need for communication and co-operation between regional and international PR experts...a necessity if this industry is to move forward. The development of integrated regional and international communications strategies is the need of the hour," he added.
In addition to LG's sponsorship, the IPRA conference has attracted support from premier Dubai real estate developer Nakheel, major international and regional industry players such as, Edelman PR Worldwide, ASDA'A PR, TRACCS/SACCS PR, and a host of media partners including PR WEEK, CNBC, AMEInfo and Gulf Marketing Review.
According to Steven Jones, IPRA Conference Secretariat and Conference Director for the Institute for International Research (IIR), organizers of the event, "The LG Electronics brand is globally recognized and much of their success can be attributed to their pro-active PR strategy and the importance they attach to integrated communications in their global marketing mix. LG have developed a sophisticated network of PR offices throughout the Middle East and have consistently raised the quality benchmarks that all PR practitioners should strive to exceed."
The IPRA Annual Conference Dubai 2004 is supported by Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), Dubai Convention Bureau (DCB) and the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
