Details of this critical element of the 'Total Jumeirah Beach Residence Experience' will be announced at the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC) Convention 2004, which will take place from 4th to 7th October at Dubai's Jumeirah Beach Hotel. JBR is the "Platinum Sponsor" for the MECSC Convention and Exhibition.

"Jumeirah Beach Residence offers much more than luxury accommodation. It is not just about creation of housing, but our very unique development is about creating the ultimate experience in community living," said Hashim Al Dabal, Chief Executive Officer of Estithmaar Realty, the developers of Jumeirah Beach Residence.

"Since it is our ambition and over-riding objective to provide a 'complete experience' for those who associate themselves with our exceptional project, we have not forgotten the shopping experience - for which Dubai is famous the world over," Al Dabal said.

He pointed out that Estithmaar is creating an exceptional place to live in for the residents. For the visitors as well as for residents, there will be the peerless 'The Walk'.

"We will have more than 25,000 residents enjoying the lifestyle presented by Jumeirah Beach Residence. In addition, we have four luxury hotels, which will attract guests from all over the world. Then, we also have to provide for the residents of the UAE, who are a critical element of essence of what Dubai is all about," he added.

Unique concept
According to the Estithmaar Realty CEO, The Walk is an entirely new retail concept that has been developed keeping in mind the heritage and ethnicity of the UAE, the Gulf and the region. Arabesque themes will highlight the entire development.

Al Dabal said The Walk would be a retail area where space will be available to entrepreneurs and investors for either sale or leasing. "It will consist of two levels -- Grade level with Mezzanine and the Plaza level. The entire retail development offers 1.7 kilometres of shopping boulevard and hosts over 400 outlets including 45 restaurants located directly on the beachfront," the Estithmaar Realty CEO said adding that further details of the distinctive retail development will be announced during the MECSC Convention.

Ideal platform
"As Platinum Sponsor, we recognise that the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC) Convention and Exhibition is a key retail event for the entire region - the very hinterland that we are at the centre of. We draw great strength in terms of both prospective residents and retailers from within the region and abroad. Taking an active part in MECSC reaffirms our focus and identity and our desire to make better the regional community that we are a part of," Al Dabal pointed out.

Jumeirah Beach Residence is a unique development ideally located in the prime location of Dubai city, along 1.7 kilometres of pristine sea shore of Jumeirah. It is easily accessible both from the heart of the city of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Jumeirah Beach Residence is in close proximity to Dubai airport and the new major developments in Jumeirah area like Dubai Internet city, Dubai Media City, Knowledge Village, Palm Island, Emirates Hills and Dubai Marina.

These and the several other distinctive features of the development will be highlighted during MECSC 2004.

The 10th Annual MECSC Convention & Exhibition will be held at The Convention Centre of Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Shopping centre industry professionals from all over the Middle East, India, USA, Europe and Asia gather at the event to network and exchange ideas while benefiting from the expertise of this year's invited speakers. Over 250 delegates representing shopping centre owners and developers, retailers, shopping centre managers, property management companies, are expected to attend this year' s convention.

The previous convention in 2003, attracted in excess of 200 delegates from across the Middle East, India, Europe, Asia, South Africa, US, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
