Wataniya Telecom's Wireless World to drive region's mobile application development

Wataniya Telecom, Kuwait's leading mobile service provider, today announced the opening of the leading development center in the Middle East. Set to enhance the development possibilities for mobile applications in the region.

Wataniya's Wireless World will assist and promote the development of high quality innovative new services and facilitate their fast track route to the market place. Wireless World is cooperating with Ericsson Mobility World and features the latest in application development technology and specialist resources and mobile network technology.

"Wataniya Telecom is pleased to open the region's first centre dedicated to providing developers, governments and companies with the tools and expertise needed for wireless application and content development," said Andrei Torriani, Chief Product Development and Technology Officer, Wataniya Telecom". Developers will now be able to take ideas for wireless services from concept to reality using the center's development tools, expertise and testing environments. With an investment in equipment, facilities and resources exceeding $1.5 million, the centre demonstrates Wataniya's commitment to building a community and wireless knowledge base which will be a globally recognized centre of excellence."

Wireless World has cooperated with the Ericsson Mobility World Developer Program which has enjoyed tremendous success on a global scale. This will provide Wireless World developers access to leverage the expertise and developer community of Ericsson Mobility World centers around the world. Additional services will include workshops, seminars, testing and development facilities as well as a wide range of knowledge and literature.

Wireless World has links with the major handset manufactures to give developers access to the latest pre-release mobile devices. It also has access to international experts who will speak and train developers as part of special developer days. Wireless World provides developers a commercial route to market with local and global distribution network for their applications.
