The event was modelled on the popular HP Academy - a unique learning and training forum designed exclusively for the company's existing and potential partners.

Hazem Bazan, Director Solutions Partners Organisation for HP Middle East, explained that the training event was targeted at maximising awareness among the reseller community in the new market of Iraq, and providing them with adequate information to foster continuing success.

"HP Middle East was quick to extend distribution channels to cater to the Iraqi market. A short while ago, we signed partnership agreements with Almasa, Emitac, Scientific Medical Systems and Kuwait Danish Computer Company to represent our product portfolio in Iraq".

"Iraq continues to be a key market for us in the region, and we are pleased to have selected prime channel partners who possess local market knowledge, and have taken on the task of introducing the HP portfolio into the Iraqi marketplace. But it is essential, that in Iraq, as in the rest of the world, these partnerships are backed by adequate training and education," he stated.

Bazem said that the two day event was attended by more than 60 resellers who had interests in the Iraqi market, and that it was deemed a great success based on feedback from the attendees. HP product groups represented at the event included ProCurve Networking Business, Industry Standard Servers, Network and Service Solutions, Business Critical Solutions, Imaging and Print Group and Personal Systems Group.

"HP's successful global operation is based on a continuous reinforcement of our commitment - both to customers as well as partners. With events such as these, we demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the regional community," he said.
