Sony's corporate ambassador, QRIO, says hello to Dubai, set to thrill visitors to Sony World at GITEX Computer Shopper 2004

Sony Gulf FZE today presented its corporate ambassador, QRIO, the biped entertainment robot at an exclusive media preview prior to showcasing it at the 'Sony World' during GITEX Computer Shopper 2004 at the Airport Expo during October 2-8.
"This is my first trip to Middle East and of course Dubai too, and from what I have seen all I can say is Dubai Rocks!" QRIO added.
Introducing QRIO at a press conference, Mr. Shigeru Kumekawa, General Manager, Sony Gulf FZE said: "We have been looking forward to QRIO's visit to the Sony World at the GITEX Shopper. As Sony's corporate ambassador, QRIO will reinforce Sony's cutting-edge advanced technological prowess to the Middle East audience, endorsing the excellent quality of the Sony product range, which will be on display at the `Sony World' at GITEX".
He further said that QRIO embodied a winning combination of artificial intelligence and information technology, and symbolized the unique effort of the Japanese consumer electronic giant in consistently pushing the envelope of technological innovation by developing challenging, next-generation products.
Sony Gulf FZE will have a significant presence at the GITEX Shopper 2004 with the `Sony World' displaying a wide array of products focusing on new generation digital product range. `Sony World' will have two zones - the Consumer Audio/Video and the PlayStation Experience - bringing a cross-section experience to visitors on the Sony portfolio.
The new cutting-edge products which will be displayed at the `Sony World' will range from Sony's flat panel TVs powered by WEGA Engine™, Sony's intelligent picture enhancement system and high resolution Super Fine Pitch ™ CRT, worry-free Cyber-shot digital still cameras, digital camcorders - the Handycam, memory stick solutions, VAIO 'Pocket' - the digital music player, the constant-carry PC VAIO `U', audio enhancements like ATRAC3 Plus and the USB-enabled storage device Micro Vault, among others. Sony World will also feature a WEGA Theatre branded lounge area where visitors could relax and unwind, while enjoying the complete WEGA Theatre experience.
The PlayStation Experience, which will be part of the `Sony World' consumer showcase arena, will feature an array of the latest gaming titles from PlayStation, offering gamers and non-gamers a totally immersive and interactive gaming experience, which PlayStation is famous for world over.
Mr. Kumekawa said that he is confident that QRIO will be the undoubted centre of attention at the Sony World at GITEX 2004, sparking wide spread enthusiasm among visitors to the Middle East premier ICT retail event.
