Sun Microsystems' corporate alliance partners deliver range of solutions at GITEX 2004
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, October 02 - 2004 at 14:33
- PRESS RELEASE
More than ten of the company's alliance partners are exhibiting at the Sun Microsystems Middle East & North Africa (MENA) stand at GITEX 2004, creating a hub for enterprise software, storage, and services during the five-day event.
"Sun and its partners are committed to educating visitors on how to drive value, efficiency and profitability throughout every aspect of their organization. Decision-makers who visit our GITEX stand will have all their business concerns addressed, including how to secure information, reduce cost and complexity, and manage their enterprises more effectively," said Mehmet Iyimen, managing director, Sun Microsystems MENA.
With storage spending in the Middle East remaining strong throughout 2004, Sun is welcoming a comprehensive range of information management partners to its GITEX space. Exhibition visitors can request live demonstrations around Hitachi Data Systems' (HDS) disk-based systems, storage switches from McData and Qlogic, StorageTek tape libraries, and VERITAS enterprise backup software.
"The Sun alliance partners on our GITEX stand complement our plans to demonstrate the strength of Sun's Linux-based servers, which deliver full integration with infrastructure software and improve manageability for small- and medium-sized organisations. In addition, Sun will also be showcasing industry-specific solutions for sectors such as education and finance through our community of iForce partners, managed by Sun channel development provider Tech Access," he added.
While meeting with Sun's solutions experts during the tradeshow, GITEX attendees can get a first-hand look at mySAP enterprise business solutions, Vignette-based software offerings from Emirates Computers, and new systems from Diyar United.
On the hardware front, Sun will be showcasing its range of Linux servers, running on the AMD Opteron platform. Sun recently announced the launch of the new 4-way Opteron Sun Fire V40z server, which GITEX attendees will be the first in the Middle East market to see firsthand.
GITEX 2004 will also serve as a platform for Sun to promote its $1 million iForce centre, which is a collaborative effort with its Channel Development Provider for the region, Tech Access. A live Internet feed will be run from the stand to the iForce centre, based at Dubai Internet City, to demonstrate Sun's technology in action.
