- PRESS RELEASE
The Information Technology Association - Jordan (int@j) has kicked off its GITEX 04 campaign with the news that Ra'ed A. Bilbessi, has been appointed Chairman.
Bilbessi will head-up this year's int@j delegation, comprising nine companies from the public and private sector which are exhibiting at the show to highlight Jordan's strengths in the regional ICT market and encourage greater cooperation and synergy between countries.
Bilbessi joins forces with Bilal Abuzeid, current CEO of int@j, to focus on promoting technological innovation in an investment-friendly environment, which int@j sees as the key to the Middle East playing a stronger role in the international ICT market. As more markets grow through liberalisation and more robust ICT growth, int@j's key focus for 2005 will be to raise awareness of opportunities both in Jordan and across the Middle East.
Commenting on the appointment, Bilal Abuzeid says: "int@j is delighted with Ra'ed Bilbessi's appointment as chairman - he is one of the region's most experienced ICT figures and has played a huge role in increasing Jordan's role as a key Middle East pioneer and growth engine in the ICT sector. His appointment is a great way to kick-off our GITEX campaign and we look forward to celebrating this on our stand."
This year Jordanian investment opportunities and ICT innovations will be represented at the Jordan pavilion in the Sheikh Rashid Hall. Exhibitors at the stand will include leading Jordanian hardware and software solutions providers such as Integrated Technology Group (ITG), Eskadenia Software Solutions, Samsync, AlliedSoft, Globitel, Computer Engineering Bureau (CEB) and Ideal Group, as well as government organisations such as the Ministry of Information & Communications Technology (MoICT) and the Jordan Investment Board (JIB).
Also, cementing Jordan's place as one of the region's pioneers in the field of education, this year at GITEX, int@j and the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology will place special emphasis on its various e-learning initiatives and their successful implementation.
"The Jordan Education Initiative is the first of its kind in the world and int@j has been involved at every stage of the program's execution," continues Abuzeid, "E-learning is the future of education and we rank it as one of our highest priorities when we look at developing hardware and software solutions."
