Samsung Electronics, the world leader in digital technology, has signed leading television beauty and bollywood actress, Ms. Simone Singh, as its new brand ambassador in the Middle East.

The agreement with Ms. Singh is part of the company's regional marketing strategy to promote its most popular online mobile community, the Samsung Fun Club, http://mea.samsungmobile.com.

Mr. J. H. Park, President, Samsung Gulf Electronics said: "We are proud to welcome Ms. Singh as the brand ambassador for our fun club. Ms. Singh, one of the most talented and highly regarded actresses in the Indian sub-continent and also internationally, has emerged as a role model for the Middle East's younger generation, who form an important target audience for our latest digital products."

Apart from featuring in forthcoming press advertising campaigns for the fun club, Ms. Singh will also participate in special fun club-related events to be organised by Samsung. Furthermore, fun club users will also be able to download pictures of the ravishing actress and also can look forward to setting the ring tones of their mobile phones to the beats composed for Ms. Singh.

Speaking of her association with Samsung Electronics, Ms. Simone Singh said: "With its aesthetic design, futuristic looks, and several interactive features, such as 64-poly tone ring tones, the Fun Club is a symbol of innovation, modernity, youthfulness and friendliness. These are the very attributes that I am inspired by, and I am sure that together we will be able to take this technological marvel to Arab mobile phone lovers across the Middle East."

The Samsung Fun Club booth in the company's GITEX pavilion is hosting fun-filled activities including a series of quizzes and competitions, downloading of audio and video clips onto Samsung mobile phones, and a well-known DJ to keep visitors energised with the latest Arabic and English tracks.

Launched two years ago during GITEX 2002, members can download screen savers, wallpapers, images, graphics, video clips and 64-polyphonic ring tones. Members can also further update their ring tones by searching the SFC online archives.
