SonicWALL brings RISK road show to GITEX 2004

Aimed at small and medium business (SME) owners and technology professionals, the road show is an educational presentation on the threats facing small and medium sized networks.

"We are here to help small and medium businesses utilize the Internet by protect themselves in the most resource effective manner," said Asad Haque, SonicWALL's general manager in Dubai. "Mobility is coming up as a core business requirement for many SMEs these days as access to live data for critical decision making is required."

Hosted by Haris Al-Afaq, SonicWALL's regional partner, the road show is designed to give SMEs an overview of how to better protect their network from threats. The four main threats to networks will be outlined along with information on how hackers and internal network users pose ever-present risks to security and productivity. Other topics of discussion will include, avoiding risks and taking advantage of the multiple benefits of wireless network access and detecting and preventing intrusion attacks.

"SonicWALL experts were on hand to discuss and provide deeper insights into the threats SME networks face everyday and business owners could mitigate these threats while at the same time enable their employees to be mobile and productive," continued Haque.

On its regional debut, the RISK road show was launched in Abu Dhabi earlier this year with over 50 SMEs attending the opening session, and was met with similar enthusiasm in Qatar and Bahrain. At GITEX 2004, SonicWALL hopes to reach hundreds of people at the RISK presentation to be held 5 times daily for the duration of the exhibition.

SonicWALL's Dubai-based office is responsible for operations, sales and marketing activities in the Asia-West region, which includes the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), India and Pakistan.
