American Express and ENOC/EPPCO pioneer payments first
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, October 04 - 2004 at 10:01
- PRESS RELEASE
A historic agreement between American Express and the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) makes it now possible for Card members to settle their balance at over 140 ENOC and Emirates Petroleum Products Company (EPPCO) service stations throughout Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The actual payment procedure operates simply, reliably, and instantly. Card members must present their credit card and an electronic slip is given to the customer as proof of payment. Payment can be made in Dirhams and in cash only.
"American Express is proud to introduce the first electronic payment method in partnership with ENOC/ EPPCO to our cardholders in a continuing effort to provide distinctive services to our customers. This innovative payment method will definitely offer flexibility, convenience, practicality and speed to all our Cardmembers," said Rasool Hujair, Regional Director Gulf Countries, American Express.
ENOC' EPPCO has welcomed the initiative as another milestone in its history of customer service provision.
"We are again providing our customer base with convenience by giving them the flexibility of settling their bills at services stations, round-the-clock," said Hussain Sultan, Group Chief Executive and Board Member, ENOC. "This pioneering initiative will save customers time by ensuring they don't have to stand in queues at banks or other outlet but can simply pay whilst shopping at our convenience stores."
This payment option has great significance to Card members living outside Dubai and Northern Emirates' cities who previously had to drive into town to pay their bills. Payments can be made at any ENOC/EPPCO outlet.
