- PRESS RELEASE
Emirates Bank, UAE's leading bank, has launched a new 'ATM on Wheels' service at GITEX 2004.
The ATM on Wheels is a custom built vehicle which contains an ATM machine made available to facilitate cash withdrawals, instant cash deposits and secure automated cheque deposits. The vehicle has been designed to cater to the requirements of customers at events, exhibitions, shopping malls, etc., with large gatherings of people who would need ATM services. It will also be ideal for providing ATM services to customers who are located in places where there is no access to ATM machines, such as labour camps.
The ATMs use the latest GPRS-based wireless technology to connect to the bank's ATM network, making the vehicle highly mobile and flexible in its placement. It is also equipped with sophisticated cutting-edge security systems with GPS-based tracking and monitoring.
Mr. Anis Al Jallaf, Managing Director and CEO Emirates Bank Group said, "ATM on Wheels was developed in response to customer demands. We have identified a number of locations around the UAE that are in dire need of mobile ATM services. Emirates Bank has always been one step ahead, pioneering customer convenience and simplicity within banking services, and this is another example of that."
Upon unveiling the truck, Mr. Louis Scotto, General Manager Retail Banking Emirates Bank said, "We already had a lot of demand from companies, event managers and prominent establishments for providing ATM services at their premises. The mobile ATM overcomes the logistical challenges of placing permanent ATMs at such locations, and gives us the option of providing ATM services "on demand" at the customer's doorstep. Today Emirates Bank is truly everywhere and anywhere."
