Legrand showcases the Legrand Cabling System at GITEX 2004
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, October 04 - 2004 at 11:28
- PRESS RELEASE
The ability to manage data efficiently and effectively is the basis for success in the present information age.
While Legrand's focus at GITEX 2003 was on home automation, this year the company will be highlighting the benefits of the new LCS6 (up to 250 MHz) and LCS5 (up to 100 MHz) for Cat6 and Cat5e networks respectively. Legrand is participating in GITEX this year as part of the French national pavilion and can be found in Hall 1, E1-7.
"With the LCS Legrand has developed a complete solution, comprising of patch panels, connectors, cables and patch cords for the structured cabling world. This is a complete connectivity solution with cables and components for interconnectivity of voice, data and image systems," said Mohammed Ahmed-Yahia, Area Manager, Legrand. Both the LCS6 and LCS5 have been tested by an independent laboratory to measure their quality and ensure compliance with international standards.
With components such as the Legrand RJ45 connector, which enables tool-free connection, and innovative patch panels and VDI enclosures, the Legrand Cabling Systems have been designed as coherent entities to optimise their performance.
Each Legrand patch panel provides 24 ports in a single height of 1U. Once the panel has been mounted in a cabinet, the blocks of connectors - and the connectors themselves - are easy to unclip. This makes the wiring accessible from both the front and the rear and maintenance simple.
Similarly, the Legrand VDI cabinets and enclosures have been designed to enable easy access, with access available from four sides. The side panels can be removed; the rear door, even when close to a wall, is easy to remove. The front door is reversible so that it can fit in with the service area configuration.
Emphasising the modularity of Legrand products, Mr. Ahmed-Yahia said that the Legrand Cabling Systems were part of the company's comprehensive solutions for electrical installations and information networks, encompassing distribution, home automation and security networks. He added that recent contracts for the Legrand Cabling Systems include the Ras Al Khaimah English Speaking School and the Dutco headquarters in Dubai.
Legrand has now further developed its range of cabinets and enclosures for residential and commercial applications. By March 2005 it also expects to complete development of a distribution cabinet for telephone, computer and TV, which would be primarily used in residential complexes.
