Duncan Waddell, Managing Director, FM Intelligence Pty. Ltd, one of Australia's leading authorities in facilities management will conduct an intensive half-day workshop on 'Best Practice in Property Management'.
Meanwhile Walter Kleinschmit, General Manager - Operations of Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Centre will conduct the second workshop titled 'The ABC of Leasing'.
'These topics are especially relevant with the property and retail sectors in the UAE poised for tremendous growth and changes over the next couple of years,' said Kim Redman, Regional Director, MECSC.
'It will prepare industry professionals for the challenges ahead and gain an edge over competition.'
The workshop conducted by Waddell will provide an overview of the key principles of effective property management including, an introduction to the topic, the role of the property manager, duties, responsibilities and scope of management, policy creation, procedure education, technology and administration controls. It will also include maintenance planning, property life-cycle planning, facilities management and tenant and customer relations.
Participants in the leasing workshop will be given insights into the basics of leasing, developing a successful merchandising program, compiling and managing a leasing program, drafting the contract, basics of enforcement and negotiating special cases.
Every delegate attending the workshop will receive a complimentary copy of the International Council of Shopping Centres' (ICSC) 'Shopping Centre Study Lease'. This revised guide to writing a shopping centre lease features a commentary addressing various important leasing issues.
