Leading solutions partners from around the region will be showcasing Sun-based offerings for the Middle East's horizontal and vertical markets.

Sun's regional channel development provider (CDP), Tech Access, has coordinated the participation of some of Sun's most dynamic solution partners for the five-day exhibition. "Based on the feedback we've received from Sun customers around the region, Tech Access has assembled a range of solution partners that address current business concerns from e-mail viruses through to industry-specific solutions for universities and manufacturers," commented Shomail Ghalib, managing director, Tech Access.

iForce partners including Borderware, Business Systems House (BSH), and Hansaworld will be showcasing applications from Sun's exhibition space. Robust security solutions, including anti-spam and anti-virus offerings, are Borderware's area of expertise. BSH will concentrate on automating the human resources function for Middle East-based mid-sized organizations. Hansaworld plans to demonstrate its Sun-based ERP, CRM, and e-payment solutions.

Specific industry know-how is integrated into Sun's iForce partners such as EduTech, IFFCO, and Masiya. Educational institutions can see EduTech's library management solutions firsthand at GITEX, while IFFCO is targeting manufacturers and sales and distribution agents with its software. Masiya is drawing on its wealth of telecoms expertise to offer industry-specific solutions for that sector, running on the Sun platform.

In addition to iForce partner presence on the Sun exhibition space, two information sessions will be held at the iForce centre in Dubai Internet City on 4th October 2004. Between 11:00 am-12:30 pm, BSH will demonstrate a fully customized, arabised, end-to-end HR solution package catering to small- and medium-sized businesses (SMB). Later that afternoon, Linux/Unix based ERP solutions for the financial market will be demonstrated by Hansaworld.

"Sun's product and services portfolio in the region continues to expand and the contribution that our partners have made to ensure this growth cannot be ignored. It is, therefore, imperative that we continue to work closely with our partners at events such as GITEX to deliver advanced technology solutions to our customers that protect their investments and are aligned to their long-term goals," said Mehmet Iyimen, managing director, Sun Microsystems MENA.

Sun's $1 million iForce centre is a collaborative effort with its channel development provider for the region, Tech Access. A live Internet feed will be run from the stand to the iForce centre to demonstrate Sun's technology in action.
