Zulekha Hospital opens in Dubai

The new hospital situated at Al-Nahda, the very cusp of Dubai and Sharjah will be catering to the ever-growing needs and convenience of patients in both the regions. This is the second hospital of the group, which has come a long way since its beginning as a small clinic in Sharjah. The Zulekha hospital, Sharjah is today one of the most well-known and trusted health establishments of the region. On its new venture Mr. Taher Shams, President of the Zulekha Healthcare group stated, "Our goal is to provide excellent healthcare facilities under one roof and be committed to offering quality care at affordable prices." The new 75 bedded hospital spanning an area of 82,000 square feet would serve as a multi-speciality center. It would feature super-speciality departments such as Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Plastic surgery and Laparoscopy in addition to the speciality departments of General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, and Dermatology among others. Along with a highly competent team of doctors the hospital will house some of the most advanced facilities and equipments to ensure the best treatment. "To reduce 'patient waiting time', the hospital will have 'multiple consultant doctors' in each speciality so that more patients will be attended to at one time", stated Ms. Zanubia Shams, CEO, Zulekha Healthcare Group.

The hospital has a unique Modular Operating room to minimize Hospital acquired infection in surgical patients. The new hospital's IT enabled service would also ensure that operations such as patient registration, maintenance of medical records and administrative procedures become more efficient. The hospital will also provide 24 hours emergency services like Ambulance facility, pharmacy and trauma care.

As part of the expansion programme in phase 2, the Group plans to start a Cardiac Catheterization Lab in association with the world famous Cardiologist Dr. Fayaz Shawl. The hospital is also planning to go in for ISO certification to match world-class quality standards.
